German band Kraftwerk was a pioneer of electronic music in the 1970s…here they perform Die Roboter live on West German TV in 1978. It’s interesting because of the current alarm that robotics and AI is going to make humans increasingly redundant by outsmarting us. We’ve made robots so humanlike that we can hardly tell that they are not human..(except from the fact that they’re smarter), so it’s interesting to see that back in the 70’s Kraftwerk were doing completely the reverse by convincingly making 4 young men look and sound as though they were robots!

@Marionville Odd. I'm sure I listened to them earlier. Wikipedia lists Pink Floyd's first LP as 1967. I bought it in summer 66. I saw them play that fall.
@rogerbenham Our memories can play tricks on us…I don’t think you were listening to Kraftwerk as early as you think you were. They were only a twosome of Ralf Hutter & Florian Schneider from their formation in Düsseldorf in 1970 until the other two joined them in 1974 and 1975, expanding the band into the quartet that we know today as Kraftwerk.
Many years ago, I had a German exchange student in class. His father was a sound engineer and had worked with Kraftwork. At the time, the kid was hoping his Dad would get to work with his favorite band, the Scorpions.
Interesting kid, he came to the US hoping to play American football. He played it in an intramural league in Germany. Our school didn't have a football team. He played soccer/Euro football instead. My son was the team captain that year. My son loved soccer and played into his 30's. He hated his coach that year, a Welshman LOL.
