Dance To Your Daddy…is a well known folk song from the Northumberland coast In the northeast of England…popularised in the 1970s when it was used as the theme from a BBC drama series When The Boat Comes In, in an arrangement by the composer David Fanshawe. The song itself is much older and the words we know today were written in 1826 by William Watson as recorded in “Joseph Robson’s Songs of the Bards of the Tyne” which was published in 1849.
Here English folk singer & fiddler Nancy Kerr teams up to perform it with Australian born multi-instrumentalist & folk singer James Fagan….
