Today I’m only posting songs I really love and which make me feel happy as it’s my birthday…I love this song from Morten Harket which is a tribute to Norwegian saxophonist Bendik Hofseth - The Boy From Port Manteau…
I'm sorry I missed so much of it - I'm just not catching up on your favorite songs, and this was a particular treat because I don't think I've heard this rendition before - and it's very nice!
Happy birthday, Marje, and thank you for the gifts you give us every day - it's a real joy, as are you! I hope it's been a satisfying day for you, and will be a joyous year.
Thank you…you must know that it’s a great pleasure for me to post my music for you and for it to be appreciated. 🥰
@Marionville It truly shows every day - with a huge body of work you've done! I just want to be sure you realize how much you and your music is appreciated.
Happy birthday and may your day be filled with memorable and treasured sounds.
Thank you so much Jack…
Is he really from Port Manteau? Where is that? A pretty jazzysong. I listened to all of it. I quite liked it. Jazz is not my thing.
It’s a song composed by Bendik Hofseth …the aforementioned Norwegian saxophonist and composer of repute. The Boy From Portmanteau is its title…I do like some but not all jazz. I really love a saxophone..it’s probably my favourite instrument.
@Marionville Another big difference! It is one of my least favourite instruments. The human voice might be my fasvourite. I love a capella1
@rogerbenham Of course…but I wasn’t counting that. You’re correct of course, as my music teacher at school kept telling me. This is my favourite piece of music featuring the human voice purely as a musical instrument…Rachmaninov’s Vocalise, performed by Aida Garifullina….
Happy joyous Birthday!
Thank you Roger. ..so far it’s been a very happy day…
