I would have posted one of his songs yesterday, but I had an appointment in Belfast to see an ENT consultant. Incidentally, Van is from Belfast and yesterday I was in the part if the city where he grew up.....they have a large mural on a building depicting him, with George Best and other famous people of note from East Belfast. When we passed it I said to my son, “did you know it is Van the Man’s birthday today”? He didn’t.

i hope you are all right in the ENT area of your health. One day, I hope to walk up and down Cypress Avenue. There is a youtube video showing the street , so I won't get lost humming the song!
My daughters heard Van Morrison's music throughout their whole childhood - one of the better things I did for them.
@Spinliesel Yes I am okay. I have been having infections and then losing my voice regularly, the last time my singing voice never returned fully, as a singer that would just about finish me, if I couldn’t sing. I got an MRI scan of my sinus and nasal passages last week and got the result yesterday. I have severe rhinitis, the sinuses are clear and the vocal cords are bruised and swollen, by trying to expectorate the excess mucus. I’m getting a spray of some sort and he’s sending me to a voice therapist. Yes, you must come to Belfast, it is a wonderful city...we could meet up!
Fantastic musician who has given us so many memorable songs.. I didn't realise it was his birthday!

I listened to Astral Weeks in 1971 when it first came out in Germany. Understood maybe ten words in every song, but understood in my heart what he was singing about. I can recognize a Van Morrison song in the first three riffs! What an artist!
