HK and Les Saltimbanks. I first heard of this band five years ago just before they played a neighborhood festival in Madison, WI. I previewed them online, and knew this Algerian French band was a "don't-miss" in about 15 seconds. I went to the show and bought a double disc set with this song among many others:
Thanks for the intro to something new. Nice sound.
You're welcome, and I will have more things to share. I have had pretty good luck finding rather obscure music and music commentary in recent years.
@alliwant Good, look forward to hearing them.
I really them! A mix of cultures, rap, reggae and funk...and a lot of calypso -feeling as well...I will have to see what else they have as well...nice to listen to at work...the guitar rift toward the end was also very nice! Political protest with music...wa alaykum as-salaam
Thanks for sharing....
If you like the political protest angle, look up a live version of "On Lache Rien." They really revved the crowds!
@alliwant I watched it! It is in my playlist now...I am a huge fan of musicians using their words and celebrity to voice concerns around the world...music unites us all deep inside...
@thinktwice "music unites us all deep inside" Well said, and I strongly agree. Glad you like HK and his friends!
Citoyen du monde n'parle francais.
Not unpleasant. Not spectacularly new.
