This is a band from Cape Town called John Wizards. I just love their sound, it's like nothing else I've ever heard.
They have only made one album, called John Wizards, but it's well worth a listen.

Oh , yeah, very original and mesmerizing. When I first read your ntro and heard the first first few riffs, i was expecting rain sticks and dried gourds and marimbas,but the electronic instruments do a fanrastic job creating a sound that is almost but not quite organic! I like it,.
