Mandril is a Band from the Early 70's, I called the Most Fusion Band I ever Heard. Played Latino Beat Rock like Santana, was Brassy like Chicago, was Flutey like Jethro Tull, it was Funky like Sly and the Family Stone... It was Earth Wind and Fire Meets War but More than All it was Mandril... A Gang of Percussionists and every time Santana was brought up as the best Latino Band... I Shut them up with some Wilson Brothers (Panamenians) Rendition of how Latino Rock should sound. Because the Wilson Brothers Mandril is after all a Percussion Gang and Carlos as a guitarrist never understood or Tap Right the Vine of the African Beat, with my Respect to the Great Carlos Santana... and I know... America was not Ready in 1969 so not his fault besides they went different roads... Santana stayed in Rock (what else a Virtuoso of the Guitar do?) and Mandril (a Percussion Gang) was just Funk from their start roots. In one the Band gets introduced and I don't recall ever had a band member been introduced as "Doctor"... Rehab kings and queens yes but not Cardiologist MD.... Enjoy... I just woke up... Mellow and Hard... Ying Yang... I choose two Live Renditions.
