Hi @marionville and @FrayedBear this is especially for you. I hope I am surprising you with a group you do not know. It is Brother and they bill themselves as Celtic rock with bagpipes, mongrel rock, Austrailan rock and didgeridoo. I heard them live and have a few CDs which I pull out every once in a while
I have never encountered them but they are one of a number of bands who have been trying to evolve new Australian culture by fusing together instruments and music from the many cultures brought to Australia by its many migrants. One of the earlier groups in this field was Scirocco and another Gwandanaland fronted by this man, Charlie McMahon who has done so much to introduce others to the instrument of the First Nation's People - the Didgeridoo.
This is really interesting stuff. I actually tried to learn to play one but I couldn't get the breathing down right. Thanks
