In the late 70's Gabrielle Roth introduced her 5Rhythm approach to stilling the mind. The rhythms were flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness. When you did the "dance" in the series of 5 rhythms just mentioned you were doing The Wave. I danced The Wave each week with a group of friends for over a year. The Wave took about an hour to do and in addition to getting you in touch with your body it was also a great form of total body work out. It was your own dance that changed according to what you felt at the time, it was not taught as a specific movement. She taught trance dance genres with a special interest in shamanism and world music. This music video would be an example of the music used in the stillness or final stage of The Wave. She was quite prolific with her musical CD's

I just answered it - I tried to delete that post with an incorrect link but it didn't delete. Geeze Gabrielle Roth in traditional German music post - she is probably rolling in her grave.
@AmelieMatisse I had similar problem recently. It well and truly threw the program out.
Had heard of her, but never really listened to any of this type of music...maybe not really my thing.

@marionville yes it is rather a particular type of music. The music is all different depending on the dance rhythm you are doing. Just listening to it didn't do much for me, it was in dancing the 5 rhythms that I really got involved. I think it has to do with "getting in the zone" She was a very interesting woman.
