From Puerto Rico... Band Leader Willy Rosario at the Timbal... I am from San Juan so I crossed paths with many musicians of the Island... Singer Puppy Cantor... was originally of my High School Class when we started in 1969 at Central High School... as sophomores... he was also percussionist... bongoes... He party'd too hard and flunked the year... because he flunked the year they reviewed his junior high record and discovered he really didn't graduated from jr high so guess what? He was sent not to repeat sophomore year in high school but to repeat senior year of junior high... or to americans repeat freshman year after being a sophomore... no need to say he instead of going to the junior high he keep hanging out in the High School with us... eventually he left for New York and started singing with one of the best bands in New York... the rest is History... in my High School were a lot of future musicians, soneros and singers. Friday at lunch time nobody ate... a Rumba will be formed and guys like Puppy will sing. thru the whole lunch hour.
