This song was written by blind Irish harpist Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738). My arrangement was inspired by a CD I purchased about thirty years ago which was a compilation of Celtic tunes. My version is similar to that performed by the group Northern Lights from that CD.

For a more traditional take, I ran across a classical guitarist performing the song on YouTube and I'd guess that his version is more like the original written by the harpist. The core melody is mostly the same.
I see you are a classically trained soprano. So is my older sister! She's the one who got the voice. I can carry a tune well enough, but I struggle to sing well. She's actually given me some advice which has helped. She still sings in a church chorale which also performs secular music. She tells me it's about the only reason she goes to church! She had also sung in a professional ensemble.
@TommyNIK Sounds like her background is very similar to mine...musically speaking!
