My Operation and the pain --the pain of watching PM Scumbo on TV.
Fellow members will be pleased (or disappointed, understandably ) to know I survived my little operation, and am doing fine, feeling a touch beat up and sore.
The worst part was having to watch on a big TV, while waiting for the procedure, our braindead PM, now trying to foist himself on us as a Bob Hawke wannabe. I never watch Australian TV, especially all those anglo australian tv people talking to anglo Australian polticians emersing themselves in anglo Australianism, with all the myopia and Australia centeredness which I find nauseating, and I can that as an anglo-Australian. Forced to listen to Scumbo, I heard all this neo-Hawkian bullshit: the post virus period, bringing us together, we need 'consensus' (you fooled us in that one Bob), time to put aside political point scoring, meeting with unions, give what business needs, labour law reform, oh yes, definitely labor reform (hello Work Choices Mark 2) and reforming Australia for the post virus world. Etc etc etc.
Watching this pathetic poor excuse for a PM, it was obvious it was the same old liberal right wing agenda: rigging the game even more for business in the name of reform, dismantling labor law protection in the name of "work place flexibility", sticking it to the welfare sector in the name of mutual obligation, and all the other right wing wet dreams. I'd like to think that Australians will see through Morrison's Hawke-Lite charade, but my faith in Australians is not that great. I'd like to think that the ALP and the labour movement will resist this attempt to use the virus as a means of fostering the Howardian agenda wrapped up in Hawkian language, but again I'm not confident.
Hope I don't have to go to the hospital again any time soon. Watching the big overhead TV is just too painful.
Cheers.
Great to see you back David. Your jolly posts are BACK! yay!
A month after my hospitalizations I received a bill from ambulace Victoria for about $6133 for them returning me from Melbourne having been sent there on a wild goose chase by my local hospital.
