It's legs must have got caught between my fingers. Threw it against the wall and went back to sleep. And a mate had a rat caught in spider web in his shed. A couple of spiders (not sure what type) were feasting on it.

And there I was vainly contemplating coming fishing down your way!
I've personally seen some bloody BIG Huntsman spiders out in the bush over the years and I'd believe that there are those big enough to catch, kill and munch out on a pygmy possum simply because I've seen one actually dragging its 'take away' lunch of a fledgling Willy Wagtail. I guessed ( only because I wasn't planning to take a much closer look) that the leg span of the spider was almost the size of an old 45rpm record and the body of the spider was about the length of an average cigarette packet.

lol Your possum is different than ours...ours are the size of a large cat...I have seen some huge spiders...but not that huge...hmmmm

I haven't seen a huntsman that big either. About 2.5 inches is about the largest that I have encountered.
We also have a variety of possums. Some are the size of medium sized dogs and can kill them and cats.
