I hate going to the city. It's a boring city but at least we don't have a curfew. And we've been enjoying a wonderfully mild winter. But give me the rainforests and bush any day. Last weekend I went to Crabbes Creek for a few nights. It is tiny.....snuggled between Mullumbimby and Murwillimbah. The peace, the sounds of the fauna and flora...... if I believed in such things I would say it was a spiritual experience.
Brisbane looks even more horrible compared to 40 years ago.
@powder That makes 2 of us. I'm told that Brisbane is now Maori territory - the ones NZ sent over to improve the average IQ of both countries!
@powder Didn't you know that we will soon be part of China?
@powder They may have garrisons and Pine Gap but the Chinese have Darwin harbour and Broome from memory. They also have a number of military grade airfields.

I’d say it is probably second only to NHS in Britain.
@powder Yes That is so true. We already pay to breath through GST. Not too sure what the justification for that is! I agree about income tax as it’s means tested but GST one pays regardless of one’s financial position.
@Geoffrey51 You pay according to your choice of purchase. The question is "do the people receive the benefits that they should from the taxation that they pay or is it swept up in subsidy to religion, rorting and embezzling politicians, propping up US grandiose military schemes that are poorly disguised piracy of other countries' assets, support of US military manufacturers or destruction of other political philosophies?"
@FrayedBear That is very true!
