Well,at last it may seem we've a decent and REAL Aussie in Parliament.
ALP member Julian Hill wants Australia to dump the Royal Family and make Australia a Republic by Act of Parliament.
Which would give us our OWN Identity free of 'Mother(????) England, our OWN Elected Head of State and no more having a Governor General representing the Queen or Charles, if and when he takes over the Throne.
I'm 110% behind his sentiment and he'd get my vote for it without a shadow of doubt.
This should have happened decades ago, we owe NOTHING to England nor the Royal Family, WE are Australians and not second-rate Poms.

No, the plural is quite grammatically correct there. since we ARE Australians.

@FrayedBear "Brainwashed" you reckon Bear, I've been a full on Aussie for all my life, totally anti-Royal Family, complete and total Aussie Republic Supporter and a descendant of a Convict sent over here in chains because he was born in Wales to a very poor family and was sent to Australia for 'poaching' a couple of measly rabbits to help feed his parents and siblings when he was only 14 years old.
Aussies have been regarded by the Pommie Hierarchy as being either 'Colonials' or second rate Poms for decades ever since the shipping of convicts was stopped.
FYI, and this is a FACT, Australia is STILL repaying England for loan that was used to build the first railways in New South Wales and you reckon I'm 'brainwashed.'
