@David1955 Until the advent of Razor Frazer the ALP stood strongly for the Australian Identity just as they once sttod firm on the rights of the workers and the conditions under which they worked. But then the likes of Howard came along with his perpetual Union Bashing and Dirty Tricks Schemes and sadly the ALP turned into little more than a mob of jellyfish.

@Triphid well I'm a bit lost in your time line there. To me, Frazer, 1975 to 1983, but then Howard not until 1996. Between them Hawke, mostly, and the biggest sycophant to the US, not to mention his "Consensus" which meant throttling workers and pandering to the Corporate Right. The rot well and truly set in, and the ALP jellyfish spine, or lack thereof, from 1983.

@David1955 Yeah I agree with you, Hawke was about as use as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest, Keating wasn't much better either and as for Bill 'No Balls' Shorten, well better we leave that unsaid in my opinion.
But in my honest opinion we truly need to throw off the shackles of 'mother (????)' England, tell the Yanks, the Chinese, etc, to leave our country alone, throw out the Westminster system of Politics and Government, etc,, set up a whole new and more equitable Constitution, etc, and make Australia a 100% TRUE and unadulterated Democracy UNDER the true and Actual meaning of the word Democracy, i.e. The Government OF the People, By the People and FOR the People.
