What I do not understand is the fact that although the Prime Minister is in denial and devoid of intelligent idea other than pray to the fairy in the sky he must surely know that Australia has 82,000 armed personnel who are fully paid and insured to protect the country.
WHY HAVE THE ARMED FORCES NOT BEEN CALLED IN TO FIGHT THE NATIONAL DISASTER CURRENTLY OCCURRING - THE BUSHFIRES?

@FrayedBear And, probably to protect him in case the nation wants to exact a bit of justice for him pissing off overseas when half the country is fighting raging bush-fires.
Remember when Tony Budgie-Smugglers Abbott ( I think it was Scabbott) decided to stay in the Army Barracks on the pretense that the Lodge was being re-furbished.
@Triphid I missed noting that incident with the Priest.
@FrayedBear Just heard on the 'Bush Telegraph' that our local Army Reserve Contingent has 'disobeyed' orders and gone off to help fight the Bush-fire down in the Adelaide hills.
Word has it that they unanimously told their local 'Commander' to "shove his orders" and marched off in unison taking 2 trucks loaded with fire fighting equipment with them as well.
Bloody GOOD show by these young men and ladies in my opinion.
@Triphid It's started. Any news on why the CO gave such an order? Was he simply passing it on from above? The courts martial will make interesting reading.
@FrayedBear Guess it most probably was a case of 'Orders from Above' and knowing this 'Commander' to be a 100% Arse-kisser that he is it'd be his " go to default" position to try ensure that HE wouldn't be in any position where he MAY have to get either dirty or sweaty, after all, he isn't known as " Never Sweat" locally for nothing.
Butt given the Bush-fire emergency situation, the nation-wide feelings and that some other Army Units are already involved in fighting the Bush-fires, etc, I doubt if there will a Courts Martial of the Local Contingent on the horizon BUT I'm thinking 'Never Sweat' may be considering moving to a new location now this has leaked out.
