Who see these fires as an oppourtunity? I do. Rebuild those communities using 21st century tech. Self powered housing and robotic AI used for gardens. Self powered street lights and new infrastructure. Build communities ready for the changed climate.
A great oppourtunity for a visionary pollie.

Yesss! Designing appropriate, resilient, site-specific buildings, especially residential but also commercial and industrial; and entire estates, and towns. Build using fire resistant technologies and products like hempcrete. Integrate passive energy and efficient water management systems and solar/wind/geothermal on-site power sources. Etc etc. Yesss!

I recently saw a suggestion that the fires are deliberate to create a rail corridor for the Melbourne-Canberra-Sydney-Brisbane fast speed train service.
It was last touted at a cost of $22 billion. In comparison the paltry kilometres of the new cross Melbourne underground is sulposedly about $14 billion in cost. Go figure - it's more evidence of the "clever country".

Visionary pollie? Isn't that an oxymoron?
