They can trash my home anytime. (I can say this 'cuz there are only turkey vultures here). My battle with the Downey woodpeckers peck'in my wood (cedar siding per previous owner) keeps me busy . I shake my fist at them & yell. They get the idea. & fly off....until
We get woodpeckers banging on the roof metal flashing at the crack of dawn.
Al least that doesn't cause damage. Just an announcement that this is his territory & suet feeder.
@Mooolah No, but as I'm not a morning person, need my sleep, & hate being woken by that racket when I've only been sleeping for about 2 hours.
@Lilac-JadeCanada I'm sorry. I use ear plugs., Seriously certain sounds can trigger unwelcome feelings. Sleeping in hotels taught me to plug my ears with them. Problem solved & no confrontation with the offender.
@Mooolah I tried those, but couldn't stand them.
@Lilac-JadeCanada Took me awhile to adjust & find ones I liked. The 1st ones I used were wax & they had to soften before I jammed them into my ultra sensitive hearing receptacles. Then there is the static I used from the radio as white noise , until special machines were developed.
@Mooolah I have sleep headphones to listen to sleep music, but they don't block out other sounds. The waxy form plug thingies just drove me nuts.
@Lilac-JadeCanada The spouse bought me a package of 100, a variety. So I tried them all, lost them all but now know what works for me. I use ear plugs, & the radio when the neighbor is mowing, daily. The combustible engine drives me crazy. Misophonia. I used to have horses as neighbors. Now I have Mr. Machine as he purchase 9 acres from my used- to- be- horse- neighbor. There is no quiet anymore so I am up at dawn during non human activity & outside with the birds. Let me know when your neighbors 20 acres are for sale. We should be neighbors. Then there is their wind chimes, but that is for another time. =0}
@Mooolah Yeah, wind chimes are annoying. Our neighbourhood is fairly quiet most of the time, with birds singing etc., but the woodpecker thing on the roof is most annoying, but thankfully it's not often. During the day I'm fine with hearing the odd lawnmower, but I hate being woken up when I have such sleep difficulty anyway.
