This offer is unfortunately only available at Christmas time, so you’ll have to save your donations next year.

Of particular interest and apparently only found in NZ is the little shag, or kawau paka.

The best part is a quick shag is that it is regiftable.

Thanks, I need it. There’s the Auckland shag to look out for.

@Zealandia I don't even trust my shag pile carpet around you Kiwi's

@puff is it made of sheep's wool?

@FrayedBear Funnily enough, by coincidence. A kiwi farmer I met during a recent roadie and farm stay visit in Northland told me that he much preferred nylon carpets over wool. Doesn’t fade or get moth eaten. Dunno how we got onto that subject.

He then backtracked and said that maybe woollen carpets have improved, but it wasn’t a very convincing explanation.

Let me know if Aussie farmers have an opinion on the topic.

@Zealandia From recollection in colder clime nearly 50 years ago I remember nylon carpets for the electric shocks resulting from walking on them. Unpleasant!

Don't know about Aus farmers but my chair and car seats are covered with wool skins. A practice adopted after watching my 3 month premmie daughter survive lying on one in her humicrib for 2½ months.

@FrayedBear Good point re electro static shock, it is rather unpleasant.

Wool skins, parents use them on lounge seats as well. Readily available as underlays to place on top of mattresses.

Haven’t seen them in cars here though.

@Zealandia given your sheep population & climate I'm amazed that you don't have them in cars.
And they last. I still have a 50 year old sheepskin jacket, I no longer wear it as I wore the shoulders out. They laughed at me when I came down the gangplank in Freemantle in mid winter sunshine. I laughed when we got to Wagga & they were scraping the ice off the inside of the bus windows!

@FrayedBear So am I! Suppose there’s only so much you can do with wool.

I think it’s possibly too humid for sheep skin seat covers here. Probably more comfortable in a dry heat.

I got about 35 years out of my sheepskin jacket, so a good score. Same, the shoulders wore out, despite me patching them.

@Zealandia that's curious about the shoulders.
On wool & humidity I would rate wool before most things particularly in cold humidity.

@FrayedBear I meant in the humidity during summertime, sorry. Agree best in winter weather.

@Zealandia I used wear mine in summer - its not unusual to get 20+°C variance in the same day. Heat & humidity however I'm not enamoured with!

@FrayedBear I’m not a big fan of humidity either, especially in the summer months.

My car has air con, it’s an absolute life saver in the muggy months.

@Zealandia mine has aircon also. When it gets over 54°C & the LED thermometer goes black I switch the aircon on by opening the window.
