A sad sight today - this beautiful buzzard, dead and tangled in a thorny tree. There are cables running over the tree, it probably hit them and I hope it died quickly. 😟

This is a hawk. Not a vulture. Not sure what kind of hawk tho.

It's a common buzzard, Buteo buteo, which is a type of hawk. It may be the case that the term refers to a different species in the USA.

That is sad.

I thought at first it had been shot as a lot of pheasants are raised around here. I'm not sure if quickly but deliberately killed would be more or less sad than accidentally but potentially slowly.
