Today, I visited Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area to see the huge flocks of snow geese and tundra swans. Unfortunately, it started to snow as soon as I arrived. I saw THOUSANDS of birds but I wasn't able to very clear photos.

Some of the approximately 400 tundra swans I saw today. If you are in Pennsylvania and you're able to visit Middle Creek WMA during spring migration, I highly recommend it. It's free and the birds are astounding.

Instead of having to drive the hour-and-forty-five-minutes to Middle Creek to see the migrating tundra swans, they came to me! I was delighted to find a flock of 46 on the Amish pond, about 30 minutes from where I live. I love waterfowl anyway, but...

This is the nest. They haven't finished building the entrance tunnel yet.

Driving in to the Pain Clinic this morning and a Great Grey Owl flew right across the road in front of me and landed in a tree. I only had my Iphone with me so the pics aren't the best but I will be looking for him now that I know he is around.
