II was diagnosed in 2007 with a rare form of Lymphoma called Waldenstrom"s which I still have and receive treatment for. I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Peripheral Neuropathy. I am 85 years old living alone in a first class Assisted Living Facility and gettiing around pretty well with my state of the art Walker.
I feel for you, especially with the peripheral neuropathy. I'm a survivor of Hodgkin's Lymphoma; this January it will be three years since I was diagnosed, and I've been in remission since August 2017. The neuropathy from chemo has been a real challenge for me since treatment. I manage it as best as I can right now with Cymbalta and physical therapy, but sometimes it's just too much and I will also need a cane to help me get around. But I make the best of it.
cool @alon. Younger at a spry 66, but cancer survivor with neuropathy and scleraderma. Yet I went back to work after 7 years disability. We do what we have to do. I went from wheelchair to walker to walking again after rehab center/nursing home/asstd living.
Amazing what determination can do!
@Petter yes determination to live for today.
I'm 78. I've been living living with a Waldenstrom's diagnosis for the past 5 years. I have 6 monthly checks at the hospital, but to date I am fine. I still go on long drives in my car (I covered 8,000kms last summer) and plan to drive from Spain to St Malo, France, in 3 weeks time. Don't let lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma get you down! It's the other afflictions, especially old age, that are the real nasties!
