The larger piece looks to be a piece of broken Indian pottery. Is it?

Are these magnetic clasps? I have often used magnetic clasps for older women. Often their fingers lose enough sensation that they can't manage a traditional clasp. This is much easier for them. One caveat: i used a magnetic clasp for an ankle bracelet for a friend. She kept losing it because the magnetic clasp would stick to a metal chair leg instead of to itself. And once I gave a necklace with a magnetic clasp to a five-year-old. She spent the whole meal picking up her silverware with the magnetic clasp!
