I have a young great niece named Cami who is such a little imp. She is an odd child, in a good way, in that she is inquisitive and seems to live in her own world of wonderment and joy. I did a series of small paintings based on her whimsical nature.a few years ago. I am going to use these to illustrate a small book for her.

Cami is autistic...she gets her emotions mixed up and is constantly in a state of confusion and perhaps sadness...trying to relate to a world that is so foreign to her probably makes her afraid...I try to relate to how she sees her world since these are based on her perspective...art does not always have to be from the POV of the artist but can be from the subject...

I think this is a great idea. Want to see the finished book. A series of pictures maybe. I many years ago made what would look like a large paper towel holder. I went to the local newspaper and got the end rolls of printer paper. Put in the holder and the kids would pull down a section and draw. I still have some of them framed.

She is autistic...she finds joy and reminds me to stay in touch with my own inner child...
@thinktwice Beautiful. What a wonderful way to help her grow up with love and self love, so important for being a happy human.
