I make all kinds of things. My favorite mediums are leather, wood, silver, stone, and cloth.
Leather: hats, knife sheaths (I haft blades too), sword belts/harnesses, purses/bags, boned corsets, restraints (hey, you make what sells ), masks, crowns.
Wood: spoons, buttons, presses, shelves.
Stone: lapidary, jewelry.
Cloth: teddy bears, blankets/quilts, historical/festival garb and accessories.
I can make books, cook/bake, ceramics, mead and hard cider, felted stuff, crochet, jewelry, and so much more.
I make most of my own tools/accessories, if I can. I use as many recycled materials as possible.
I like to teach kids how to make things.
@Annaleda how does hard cider differ from ordinary cider?
Regular cider is pressed juice, hard cider is fermented.
@Annaleda ...and explosive!
Haha. It can be, if you bottle it with too much sugar!@Spinliesel
@Annaleda so you are saying that regular cider is non alcoholic? We call that apple or pear juice depending on the fruit.
Cider is fresh pressed and juice is filtered. To me. @FrayedBear
@FrayedBear And there's a pretty distinctive difference in taste.
@chicagojcb alcoholic vs nonalcoholic or filtered vs unfiltered? I note current dictionary English list alcoholic cider as cider but in America and Canada as Hard Cider. Here we also get various Swedish boutique ciders called "cider" the same as in England. The origin is French!
@FrayedBear You are right. I was not thinking of what we call hard or alcoholic cider. It might be as simple as filtered vs unfiltered. I don't know. But I DO know cider tastes quite different from juice. Cider is fresher, somehow.
@chicagojcb In Non alcoholic we have a clear brown apple juice frequently made from reconstituted and then there is the cloudy white juice.
Welcome to our group. You are so talented.
Aw, thanks.
