I try to craft my holiday gifts for work. This year, I painted 7 med size clay pots and 3 little ones to gift plants to my coworkers.
The plants inside were babies from my own houseplants. Easy and low maintenance ones, perfect for some "not so green thumb". ?

Is that snake plant (mother in laws tongue)? I used to have one, been wanting to get another but don't really see them in greenhouses around here very often.

Yes it is. The cylinder version. It seems that I have two sizes, a dwarf and a medium size. The one on the picture is the medium size. I got the dwarf one at IKEA and this one a th home depot one day.. havent seen it again since.

@Zoohome I had the "black and gold" variety which is the type my grandmother had for years when I was growing up. It was.quite tall, probably 3' and quite hardy then one day it just started dying and I never came up with a "cure". In just a few weeks it was gone. Haven't looked real hard but I haven't run across another in normal shopping.

I do like your painted pots. The kind of gift I always enjoy getting. I'm sure your coworkers will like them.

@DotLewis i can mail the next shoots I get. These guys are no taller than 10" and the "mini" version is perhaps 8", but narrower. Maybe they are the same and just need time to grow. But I havent seen any thicker ones on the mini version.

@Zoohome That would be awesome. I would like to grow another one and smaller wouldn't be bad.

Would you be interested in starting a "pregnant onion" (false sea onion) plant? It is a succulent, easy to grow although the ends of the long leaves can go brown if they are not happy. I have several and they make little ones on their surface. (see pics) Those would ship very well and when put in soil they will root and begin to grow. If you are interested I would send you some of the "seeds". They don't all sprout so I would send several. I'm sure you would get at least one or two plants out of it, maybe more. They can grow up to 4" across the bulb, which sits above ground but I've never grown one that large. Have one that is maybe 3" across.

@DotLewis oh definitely !!!! I do not have those. I have a thing for succulents too. Thank you!!! ?

@Zoohome Had a heck of a time finding this post again. Could NOT remember where it was posted. Finally remembered the pictures and went cruising through those and saw your pots.

I wanted to get back with you about the pregnant onion sets. I have a dozen or so of these that just came off one of my plants. If you would like to have them, I'd be happy to send you these. I don't know how many of them will take off but I'm sure you should get at least 3-4 plants out of the batch. Let me know, if you want them, we can message for details.
