This is what I've been doing now - wire weave pendants. 20 and 24 gauge copper and silverplate wire, natural stone or glass beads.

It is magnesite, the same hardness and texture as turquoise but much less pricey.
@silverotter11 no kidding? That's a new one on me. Well, I guess that's now my word of the day: magnesite. Thanx
Do you buy the stones or grind them yourself?

Oh! Lordy -that would be a whole nuther hobby!! I would love to and maybe in the futre I will, there is some good rock hunting around Ellensburg. There is a person in the complex that cuts and polishes stones and I happen to have a 2 6x6 inch slabs of Alaskan jade. I buy buy stones. Last year a bead and agate shop closed and I stocked up on alot of jaspers and agates. I also like lampwork glass beads.
@silverotter11 We grind our own from slabs we get at gem and mineral shows. Then we make a silver bezel and set the stone in it and make pendants and necklaces.
@farmboy2017 At CWU (Central Washington University) there is a jewelry class I am thinking of taking. Need to get my hip replaced first. lol
I’m in a few wire wrapping groups on Facebook.
I’ve done a few pieces. Working on an ammonite with pearls right now.
