I'd love to make a quilt with a bookshelf on it. Anybody know where to find a good pattern? #quilting

Graph paper is your friend for this. Don't forget to add open space for knickknacks and pictures.

Book quilts are lovely and pretty simple but look complex...I love quilting...these are also very easy to to machine quilt...great for small fabrics as well...use up those scraps!

Have fun!

I have seen a fabric print of a book shelf, but can’t recall a quilt pattern.

I just saw an art-quilt show. Krenneck(?) was her last name. Now, what was her first name...Ellie? Or maybe Annie? I can't remember. Perhaps you could Google it.

I suggest making your own pattern. For dresses and other clothing I use (and sometimes alter) patterns, for quiting it is often easier to make my own to get what I want. Clear quilter's rulers are helpful for this.

@BeachChick66 I have only made a few quilts, but a lot of clothing and draperies for my home, etc. I suggest using cotton batting if you are planning to use the quilt on the bed as it is not sweaty. Feel free to ask me any questions. And warning...quilting can be addictive, make room for the upcoming fabric collection!

@BeachChick66 I machine quilted a baby quilt a few years ago. I have tied larger quilts, this is fast and easy but lacks the intricacy of machine or hand work. Machine quilting on a regular machine is a bit tricky due to the bulk. Many find hand quilting to be very relaxing, I enjoy the process of making the quilt tops more. Right now I am designing a tree of life quilt. I may pay to have it machine quilted at the local shop as they have long arm machines and their work is beautiful.

@BeachChick66 This is the fabric for my project

@BeachChick66 I should have the block design finished in the next week or so and will post a pic. Thank you.
