Our library had a 3-D printer for a kids' summer program. Call your library system and ask.

I have never had it done but find it amazing . I have mostly seen it related to facial reconstruction in people and animals

really? They sell 3d printers everywhere now, although I admit when i last searched didn't have much luck finding a place in my area to have anything done.
I don't want to commit to even thinking about buying a 3d printer until having had it done some place else.
