Manila File Folder Journal.
I do a lot of altered art, so I always have tons of scraps: yarn, paper, ribbons, etc. I decided to use some of this stash to make a few journals.
I started by making up the bases from office manila file folders that I was going to recycle. I made about 50 bases so that I could have then ready for when the mood strikes. 
Glued and sewed paper, stamped, and embellished...what a messy hobby! ha
Here is the one I made to record my life changing cataract/lasik eye surgery. The inserts were made from old accounting ledger paper. I wrote about my experience on these inserts later.
I have a few others that I made to record special trips and events. They are small and manageable, unlike the larger journals I do with lots and lots of pages.

I paint, knit, sew, make jewelry, etc. Yeah...I forgot to tell you that I have skills...lol, not just a pretty face...ha ha ha
@thinktwice I wouldnt think of you as just another pretty face.Wait....that came out wrong.But seriously,nice work.We had a family ceramics business for many years and yeah,like you,my craft stuff runs the gamut from ceramics to photography to dry flower arrangements to candle making to...........
@lookinhard Ceramics is one thing I don't do...I am not very skilled at anything 3-D...sculpture, wood working, pottery, etc. I admire people who have those skills...I like candle making but only when repurposing old candles into new ones...I prefer the recyclable, made from trash types of art the best...I like assemblage and have a collection of doll body parts...ha ha ha...
@thinktwice The candles that my brother and I made were made from nonstandard items.Like the clay bottoms of huge clay planters.Not the bottom but the tray that they sit in.
@lookinhard I know what you mean...I have made sand candles...lots of fun using other items...I have ruined many pans making candles...ha ha
@thinktwice when you use the big planter trays candles with 4-6 wicks are not uncommon . Just messaged you

Yes, except you make your own embellishments and papers..recycling old or leftover stuff....messy and loads of fun!
