Been making ceramic beads, firing them in my small kiln, and decided this afternoon to actually make a necklace with my five handmade beads as the focal components. Had the small turquoise and navyblue colored beads in my stash ... pretty happy with the cheerful result. The large beads are hollow, thus not heavy.
Looks great. Reminds me of the Southwest. Southwest mystic traveler.
There is that, but the swirls are very reminiscent of the symbol for infinity present on many basalt rock petroglyphs from the Sonora Desert.
Mixed with the color, to me, it gave it a mystical Southwest appeal.
When I see those particular rock etchings, I suspect the human carving it very well uberstood their immortallity. They understood their carving would exist beyond their physical existence. I sometimes wonder if they may have thought or felt of it as a kind of portal or link to spiritual world.
That their carving would exist in front of them as they made it, and be with them as they lived in a world beyond death.
Anyway, that's why I am going with southwest mystic traveler.
