These 2 pictures were taken by me in Hawkes bay NewZealand. They are a startling example of lenticular or wave clouds being generating off a range of mountains to the west of my particular position in Hastings. The wind rises on the face of the mountain
and condensation takes place at the high point of condensation, whereapon suction on the other side drags the wind down and starts an oscilation of these wave clouds for miles across the sky. Perfect conditions for glider pilots who capture the leading edge of a strong cloud and fly for miles on the rising current.
