I joined a Meetup hike last weekend on the Historic Roanoke Horse Trail. It runs parallel to the parkway and there was constant car noise, and often in sight of homes. It's obscure and rarely used though, so significant for locals who have hiked ...

Ive always loved hiking and camping. And for the past few months I have been planning to through hike the Ozark Highlands trail. Has anyone done this that could give some pointers?

This is about 50' tall, called the Bluestone Amphitheatre in Amherst county, VA. We climbed last Friday. That's my son posing. Colorful rock, yes?

Hiked up Mt Pilchuck today. Views of Mt Rainier, Mt Baker, and Glacier Peak. Also views of Everett and beyond. Micro spikes all the way. A great way to spend Black Friday!
