Super hiking woman
Any guys looking for a hiking partner? I saw this and thought way out of my league but there might be some who could keep up with her. [nationalgeographic.com]
Kudos to the young lady. I must have missed the part where she is seeking a male partner.
It didn't say but if she was it would be hard to find someone who could keep up with her.
@JackPedigo nigh impossible. 25 years ago I would have given it a whirl.
I'm an old fat white guy with asthma. On backpacking trails, I don't pass anyone. It takes me all day to do ten miles. This year I've had two strokes. Now I stagger when I walk. That phase of my life may have retreated for good.
I'm looking at canoing instead.
Canoe with sails. I built this last year, this year hoping to take a few overnight trips.
@Tominator I am assuming you have a dagger board to act as a keel. Otherwise you'll have trouble tacking (sailing against the wind).
On the other extreme my canoe has a solar powered trolling motor.
@WonderWartHog99 Actually two keels. There is a lee board and the outrigger has a permanent although fairly small keel.
@Tominator I sail in my canoe by standing up and lifting my shirt tails overhead. Sort of.
@AncientNight Once a canoe has an outrigger, I consider it a catamaran without the trampoline.
I think I may have pulled my left arm out of its arm socket. My doctor gave me medicine to decrease the inflammation and says the next step is an MRI because an x-ray is too cheap. Canoe trip seems to be slipping out of the picture.

Posted by CallMeDaveI've never been a big wildflower person, but this is the season for it here in Appalachia. Other people can identify every variety. I'm not there yet.
