Going Rogue; my favorite type of camping trip. I inflated the raft in the parking lot, using an electric pump, then carried it down to the river for rigging.

Camping in east San Diego county. Because the fire hazard is so high in southern California, it is often difficult to find a campsite where open fires are allowed. There is something about cooking over a campfire that connects us to all of the past.

I just finished the Hike100NCT challenge! I drove across state and hiked in a little blizzard in Yankee Springs State Recreation Area in Michigan. My Forrest wasn't so thrilled about the weather.

I just read Grandma Gatewood's Walk. Emma Gatewood hiked the entire Appalachian Trail in 1955, when she was 67 years old. A remarkable book about a remarkable woman. Highly recommended.
