So my new years resolution was to visit at least one National or state park a month. January I went to Big Bend National park and Febuary I hiked Guadalupe peak. So, where should I go this month?

This morning, it was a fairly short 1 mile plus (maybe 1 1/2 miles) round trip to Lake Waiau at 13,000 feet on beautiful Mauna Kea on Hawai'i island. The lake looked its pristine best. And very spiritual. And I was with 2 great companions. They ...

Scorpion Mountain Central Cascades in the beautiful state of Washington. Solo hike yesterday, 9 miles 2500 ft elevation gain. Check out the electric green and the hugging tree. ❤️

Elwa River, Olympic National Park. They removed a dam to try and restore a salmon run. You can see where Lake Mills was by the edges of the new alder thickets. The view down is 200 feet, the height of the dam and vertigo inducing

As I was finishing packing the car for a weekend hiking trip, I realize I forgot my sleeping bag. Luckily, I noticed my tent as I was retrieving the bag. This should be a great adventure on the trail!

I went for a 12 mile walk on a bike trail yesterday. It is no substitute for hiking a good hiking trail in the woods. No comparing.

I just finished the Hike100NCT challenge! I drove across state and hiked in a little blizzard in Yankee Springs State Recreation Area in Michigan. My Forrest wasn't so thrilled about the weather.

If you ever get a chance to make it to Ishigaki, Okinawa, Japan, it is an incredible experience. Its an hour flight south of Okinawa mainland. It was rainy weekend but very much worth it.

Some photos from hike near my house. There are beavers in this lake, I never see them but have seen the large beaver dens in the lake before and see trees downed by them. Saw a mallard with her babies in muddy water, and swans. Also a male and female...
