But, we are devolving to a totalitarian state, as liberals and conservatives compromise toward more government control, and less individual freedom, in both social and economic matters. That manifests itself in our federal budget, deficit, and debt. And unfunded liabailities, including Social Security, Medicare, and federal pensions. And then there's state and local governments.
We're reaching a point of no return. Practical default on our debt, hyperinflation of the dollar, and a crash in the world's economy. At that point, I'm afraid our country will turn to a real totalitarian to "fix things", rather than the incremental totalitarian state that the Democrats and Republicans are cooperatively and steadily marching us to.
I just don't think there's much time left until the crash. Maybe those people who voted for Trump because they were so sick of slick-talking politicians will realize that you have to vote for someone of principle -- rather than a blowhard driven by whim -- to get real change, and respond by voting for a LIbertarian. That's my hope. Buth this next time my hopes get dashed is really going to hurt, as my life and my country and humanity in general are going to take a huge fall.

@SpikeTalon, I'm running for Congress. My theme will be that you need a libertarian in Congress to steer the liberals and conservatives to compromise toward a libertarian government rather than a totalitarian government. I hope to convince liberals/conservatives that their century-old objective in voting in liberal/conservative politicians to take over the government and enforce a liberal/conservative society on all is futile, and will instead result in a totalitarian government and society. A libertarian gpvernment and society is the best result they can ever expect to get, and is a far superior result than a totalitarian government and society.
