The milder ones often are, but there's a more consistently principled group too. I'm certainly not into pot (hell, I drink caffeine an average of under once a week and alcohol less than once per month). I don't use nicotine at all, though my fiance likes to vape enough that I easily could and still get laid. And of course I'm an atheist which most Republicans aren't. And trans. And against speed limits. And not exactly pro cop. And into metal music. And against military intervention.
Assuming you aren't only joking around there, I'm afraid you don't know what it means to be Libertarian. Contrary to some popular belief (mostly among left-leaning circles), a good portion of Republicans and Libertarians do not get along due to difference in opinion when it comes to social based issues. Most of those on the left would agree with the Libertarians on the social based issues. Lastly for what it's worth, I was never into recreational drugs nor do I have any unhealthy sexual fixations.
@SpikeTalon The line is what I thought was a pretty well known old joke. My impression of libertarians were that they were conservatives who didn't buy into the religious aspects of the republican party.
John Brennan is free to make any suggestions he likes. He's a private citizen, who used to work for the government. Just because he has his opinions doesn't mean anyone in government is going to act on them now.
Btw, to use as source material an article by "Tyler Durdin", doesn't really lend a whole lot of credibility.

No one may act on his suggestion(s), but that was beside the point in the post, and I think his suspicions on the matter regarding Libertarians is misguided. The focus should be on those who are alt right conspiracy theory believing whack jobs who think QAnon is legitimate, those are the folks who could potentially carry out acts of violence (pro life wackos too). As for the source, can't say I care much for him either, but then again I'm skeptical that any of the more left-leaning sources would report on that though.
On an unrelated note, just curious, as this was a group post did you visit this group and come across this post, or did it show up in the main feed? Just curious is all.

I briefly registered as Lib to help the party get a place on the state ballot. I don’t recall the party’s ever winning as much as five percent of the vote.
Who trusts ideologues on either left or right to be humane? I don’t.

I know many people who describe themselves as Libertarian, including myself. I never heard any of them suggest violence.
