I somehow got subscribed to am email newsletter from a bunch of theist statists. I didn't un sub because it's interesting to see how their strange little religious minds work, they often wind up on the same side of an issue as I am since they're conservative though of course they tend to use different reasons, it's fun to laugh at them when they're ridiculous, and I learn about a bunch of issues that the majority of my online news commentators wouldn't care to write a story on, even if they heard about it.
Anyway, today they sent something out I'm conflicted about: [breakpoint.org]
On the one hand, if religion isn't strong enough to survive government that's one step closer to the end of a particularly long-lived type of irrationality. On the other hand, it's the government grabbing even more power and taking even more of people's money. On the one hand this will probably apply to the for profit evangelical hypocrites with gold toilet seats. On the other, it will apply to my old church, and though they are misguided proponents of nonsense, my old priests are good people. On the one hand, it's making the religious pay taxes on their housing just like anyone else, and it seems fair. On the other hand, that money often comes from victims of idiocy who can ill afford to donate more money that will go straight to the government but they'll donate it anyway.

TL;DR my atheism and anarchism are kinda conflicting here and I'm hoping somebody can help me decide which side to support.
