I came across this today. A good thought.

WRONG! We all have the right to be ignorant, just as we all have the right to judge.
Because we are all ignorant, including Harlan Ellison, his statement is a blatant example of ignorance. We are not only entitled to be ignorant, we are doomed to be ignorant. Therefor, holding an opinion is the equal right of all, it's just that most of those opinions are wrong, misinformed, misdirected, or correct only to the extent of a persons actual knowledge (it is fair to say that no one knows everything in all its minutiae). Sounded good, Harlan, just not adequately informed.
That, of course, is merely my opinion.
How about: You are entitled to your own opinion, but not to your own facts.
