Of all of the popular unscientific nonsense what's your biggest pet peeve? By this I mean the ignorant but relatively harmless stupidity.
Mine is probably ancient aliens.
Astrology has always made me cringe. Not to mention flat earthers which boggles the mind. Such dribble
For the harmless, the essential oil, superfood, crazy talk always gets my head shaking.
Do you guys remember the cupping craze from the last olympics? People will believe some weird shit
Non-GMO advertising. Again, not totally harmless, but not as bad as anti vaxxers, etc.
The fact that I haven't seen a single TV commercial saying, "Yes! Our product is GMO, because it's safe, it's effective, it's productive, and it's helpful in every way! Quit being nieve by paying more for inferior products!"
Oh and things like Salt that's labeled Non-GMO. Really?
In other words, the ploys of "marketing gurus".
I've seen nonGMO water too.
"relatively harmless stupidity" this does not exist.
Any stupidity can be catastrophic at some point.
Believing in the super natural at all is ridiculous.
I think belief in ancient aliens is harmless, and I wouldn't classify it as supernatural, just idiotic.
Anti-gun fanatics.
Define which guns. Muskets? hunting rifles? ... or medium machine guns, whose only justification is for wholesale slaughter?
@Petter
Our anti-gun fanatics don't seem to understand the difference. But to answer your real question, I think you should be able to own any of the above. Now, why you'd want a fully automatic weapon is beyond me. But some folks collect them.
@bigpawbullets Agreed, but with basic "sensible" restrictions on use in public. Just as anyone should be allowed to own a car on their private property.
But to drive it on the public highway it must be declared roadworthy and the driver must be examined for being capable of safe control.
@Petter
Very good comparison.
To own (legally) a fully automatic weapon where I live requires a background check and specific registration of each weapon... plus a hefty tax. And, you're very restricted as to where you can fire it.
Yeah the flat earth idiots realllllllly drive me insane
But they're usually only saying it for fun or profit.
@Petter even worse...
That climate change is a hoax...but that's not harmless.
I agree it's not.
