Well, if you actually want a sustainable diet for the long term, I wouldn't advise eating donuts They are deep fried and have many lipids which are horrible for you.

Eating should involve making intelligent choices. Not eating empty calories and junk food. I don't care if it's vegan, it's still junk food.

Just saying.

I had an apple cider doughnut at our Pumpkin Patch a couple of weeks ago. YUMMY! Not something I will ever make.

Sheila, I am going to be anal here (the recipe looks good but the dairy, eggs and gluten leave me out). Is it real cider or apple juice? True cider has alcohol. Back in the 'bad' old days some religious fanatics (mostly women) thought alcohol was bad. For Protestants harder alcohol like cider and wine were associated with Catholics. Lower alcohol, like beer was German and protestant and OK. The Women's temperance movement and prohibition were the result. Cider could be used for sweet apple juice (technically, any non-pasteurized juice which can turn to alcohol can be termed cider). In Europe all cider is alcoholic. As a lover of true cider and an amateur orchardist I have become fixated on this term. It is used as a marketing ploy. One doesn't call grape juice wine so why would one call apple juice cider. Sorry for my anality.
