Growing up in Tex ass my mother (from Brooklyn) would go to the butcher and get a leg of lamb. Since the state is cattle country they hate sheep herders so my mother would have to special order a leg of lamb from the butcher.
This island is a big sheep herding place. There is a portable slaughter van that come around at certain times of the year. I am told it is really gross.
