This group is producing attack ads warning people not to eat the scary 'fake' meats. [wellness.consumerfreedom.com]
I think you still have to study ingredient labels- some plant based prepared foods are not necessarily healthier. I usually buy and cook whole foods- tons of fresh and colorful(organic as possible) veggies. Avoiding gmos and as many pesticides as conceivable is always preferable
Talk about total hypocrisy, 'real' met has so many additives it is one of the worst hings one can eat. Health and most meats is an oxymoron. And the impact to the environment is, of course, not mentioned as well as the torturing and killing of sentient beings. Pure desperation.
True that. Factory farmed meats are full of antibiotics and hormones. CAFO feedlots produce tons of toxic waste and pollute the air and water. If more meat eaters saw how it was raised, they would likely change their minds.
It’s easy to make your own “burgers”.
Sounds like they are extremely desperate for customers. They don’t tell you exactly what is in actual meats either.
Most hamburger meat contains fecal matter.
@BDair
Yes they do.
I don't know what the truth is about this but I always try to avoid over processed foods, whatever they are.
I guess the beef and pork industry is upset that people are not buying their corpses of dead animals. I hope more people stop eating meat for both their health and as a moral decision not to kill animals for no good reason.
The plant based meat industry is growing rapidly, with even fast food chains offering options. Non dairy milks are also gaining in popularity. Traditional meat and dairy farmers often operate with thin profit margins and certainly do not want any competition.
@BDair Yes, I'm glad that there is an alternative to eating animals. I have tried the Impossible Whopper at Burger King. It is very good, but does have a lot of sodium in it. I cook for myself and usually don't eat any fast food, but had to try this one after my brother told me he liked it, and he's a big meat eater! I wouldn't eat one of these very often though due to the sodium content. Maybe some of these meat and dairy farmers will find another way to make a living rather than torturing animals for a living!
I’ve shared elsewhere but my favourite pecan nut roast is simple and nutritious:
1 small onion, grated
170g pecans, chopped
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
140g tomato purée or paste
230mls water
