Raised as a Christian Scientist, but read too much to remain Christian. I don't believe that people are their labels, but would like to find or create a label that would give public recognition to my beliefs, as well as having equal legitimacy as much as any religion. Faith is just as good a reason to believe that there is no god as to believe that there is one.
Speaking of heretical relious beliefs, I also believe that democracy is inherently and structurally flawed, and needs to be replaced with something better. It is, among other things, neither egalitarian nor a good way to make decisions, policies, or laws. My first book will be a work of political theory, but it is not an easy task.
I also think that our current social attitudes are crazy. We have no problem with displays of violence, yet the display of a (female) nipple is something to freak out about. I think that the American obsession with guns is a symptom of insanity. At the same time, I think that Freud has brainwashed everyone into thinking that children must not be allowed to have any exposure to the simple realities of human sexuality. This has resulted in attitudes that result in adult dysfunction and misery for both (or all) genders in an area that should be one of the greatest sources of human happiness and togetherness.
Perhaps needless to say, I believe that the naked human body should be perfectly allowable in public; while the depiction and use of guns should be treated as obscene.
