Optimally I'd be working as a software QA analyst and technical writer, but cheap offshore labor has made that difficult to find lately. So at present I work as a science demonstrator and field trip leader for a children's museum. I'm an avid bicycle rider and regularly go for 40-70 mile rides, and other hobbies include astronomy, magic, day hikes, swimming, and plotting to take over the world and fix everything wrong with it. Politically I'm very liberal and oppose everything Trump stands for. On a more personal level, I enjoy helping people, teaching people new things, and trying new things and foods.
My philosophy, if you believe such things can be summed up in a sentence or two, would be: The world was not a good enough place when I woke up this morning. So, rather than (just) bitch about it, I'm going to take some responsibility for making it better. Every day, at least once, I'm going to make a conscious effort to make someone else's day a bit better, and a bit easier. Bringing some joy to someone else's path is both great and a lot of fun. Sometimes the only opportunity I have is to round up all the shopping carts in a parking lot and return them to the corrals, other times I can perform some magic tricks for someone that was just having a standard day. But I have to do something, because the world won't get any better unless people do something to make it that way.
Also, I love spicy food and I'm pretty certain I can tolerate hotter stuff than you can.
