Hell yes. But I do not dwell. It is what it is & the cards I have chosen to play are not so bad.

Yes I do, but I try not to dwell on them. Nothing can be done to change the past, only can change what I do moving forward.

I don't know for sure. I've made mistakes and realized what I did wrong, but is that a regret? Have I ever caused harm to a person purposely , I don't think so, if I did that would be something to regret.

Regrets, to me, are situations where you knew the right thing to do, and failed to do it.

I have always been true to the light I had at any given time, so I have no regrets to speak of.

Disappointment on the other hand is doing the right thing and having shit outcomes anyway. I have LOTS of those.

However ... disappointments are often based on unrealistic expectations and I also had tons of those, courtesy of my fundamentalist origins. So a lot of my disappointments have yielded to more realistic expectations.

Some of my unmet expectations are still reasonable, but understanding as I now do that life is basically an absurdity, I no longer expect it to be reasonable for me or with me.

So problem solved ... for some given value of "solved", anyway.

I regret not noticing that my marriage was foundering before I did. But even that may have turned out for the best. It did for her, and maybe it will for me, as well.

I certainly think of missed opportunities from time to time. But one never knows for sure how things may have turned out had I made different decisions.

Oh yes. I have a lot of regrets. But no regrets about the fact that I did the best I could with what I knew at the time.

While snowshoeing, I met a hilarious, handsome and fit single man who lives near me. We took a shine to each other, flirting shamelessly (at least I was). He also loves hiking and is my age.

Why didn't I get his name and phone number? I had a pen and paper in my pack. Reluctantly, I watched him walk away.

"Maybe you'll see him again while hiking," my married hiking partner said. Fat chance.

@AmiSue, I don't know how to find him.

I asked my hiking partner, Karen, to contact a woman who knows him. That woman didn't get back to Karen.

Perhaps he is dating someone. Fit, funny men are usually in a relationship.

@LiterateHiker Don't give up on this. Not knowing is worse than knowing if he is, in fact, seeing someone. But maybe he isn't and is wracking his brain trying to figure out how to find you!

I regret I didn't find Agnostic.com 50 years ago. 🙂

I regret not hugging my son enough.
