It sure is hard to hire a handy man. I need someone who will do a couple of weeks work. I've talked with several, who sound like they want to work, but they don't show up.
The handy man who was supposed to show up on Monday, called this morning and apologized for not showing Monday. I invited him over, and we worked for a while. I think he will be a keeper.
Omg...super!!
They are self-employed because they dislike schedules! Patience & references!
A common fact of life. I have people come out to our property and provide an estimate. We then agree on a work date and time. I never hear from them again.
It is indeed a gift from the gods...when a handy-man finally fits the ‘bill!’ It must be a little like dating, you ‘must kiss a lot of frogs,’ to find a prince! Lol. Best of luck!

Trump is busy trying to empty the US of hard-workers who cost very little - except when he needs them for his golf resorts.
This strategy is to force the ‘lazy’ people to work! But low IQ and unskilled, will not be getting the work, that is needed here...they lack the ability! And I am not degrading these people...this is life 101, reality!
A lot of people try to save a few bucks by going to Craigslist, but it usually winds up biting them in the ass. You may spend a bit more by hiring a professional who either works for or contracts with an established company, but you'll also get someone who is much more often than not reliable, bonded and insured.
If I were able bodied, I'd do it myself. I don't need great skill, just someone with a strong bac who can hammer and saw.
I found a good one and I think I may treat him better than my ex husband. He missed a few days in the past 10 years: came to work the afternoon of his dad's funeral, took his daughter in preterm labor to the appropriate hospital, and took a few days off after he had cervical spinal fusion of 3 vertebrae. Otherwise he walks to work if he has to and stays later if asked
Nice.
