So, Agnostic.com keeps popping up in my Facebook. It lists dating before community, but once I joined, everybody said, "This is not so much a dating site." Ignoring the false advertising, where do you guys go for "dating?"
@scottzillyun There is a group here called the community senate. It is comprised of level 7 and up members. We work with site administrators to improve all aspects of the site. There have been several conversations on this topic. When you reach level 7 you will have opportunity to suggest corrections to this issue if it still exists. Relationships have been created between members on this site. I personally know of several.
Interesting , thanks !
Focusing on the community aspect let the right person come to me. Took forever but worth it
Imo ...Idk .
I've only been here about a week .
I like the fact that the site allows for separation between believers and saner ppl , so we don't have to sort through all that .
I like that ya can see ppl's personalities somewhat through their posts and interactions , etc , cuz just judging ppl solely on their photos and self- descriptions is just ridiculously absurd , low class , highly insulting etc .
But , all that is worth ' nothing whatsoever ' as potential romances go if there simply are no local others to relate to.
THATS THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM , THE 4OO LB GORILLA !
Why is this the case here ?
I just read here that this site is only about 10 months old ...well , that could be the reason or part of it
but
Is that true ?
Seems like Ive heard of the site long before that but I could be wrong ?
And there's the possibility , I think , that this site does not want to succeed in the way that we want it too , but instead just wants to ease us towards giving patronage to the match.c0m dating monopoly abomination ?
Maybe , the issues are just marketing related ?
I think it would be great to make this site work or learn from its mistakes and somehow replace it with one that does .
Sane american's sadly await a non- predatory dating site like xians wait for the return of jeebus !
why do people constantly bitch that there is "no one local"? What are the odds that the perfect person is within 50 miles of you? That is what I call "settling" for whomever just happens to be around.
So, there are these great inventions called planes, trains, and automobiles....and even buses and boats!
Try expanding your horizons. But, seriously, if a warm body on the next street over is all you seek, there are certainly easier ways to find that.
Also, yes, only 10 months old. If you want to go to match.com, no one is stopping you....
@sarahjustme ...well dudette , ha .
Whether its a huge issue or not is obviously a matter of personal perspective.
See my previous comment .
Perplexes me that you percieve what your comment says as the ' natural ' end of the discussion .
I' m a ' fix shit ' kinda guy and I really don't like the attitude of ' theres nothing anyone can do ' !
To me , if your reasoning is correct and the problem is insufficient marketing then , as a member of the site I wanna be informed thoroughly as to what that means so I can as an interested party give suggestions , offer ideas , participate in helping to solve the problem in some way .
I don't see any effort here at involving the members in improving the site .
I wish there was a group page to enlighten everyone and ask for ideas .
The devil's in the details and god is dead !
We're on our own here ...fix it ourselves or do without !
Maybe there is nothing we can do , certainly we can't if we don't even wanna bother trying to understand what the situation really is !
@sarahjustme ... Obviously youre impossible to communicate with in a grown up fashion .
Lazy , and just spew bs without concern for its merit .
Your comment seems to imply that you know something that is true in opposition to me , specifically that Im just whining and not actually participating and ppl who read your comment are expected to be as lazy as you and not consider if its true
But
The fact is that I've been here about a week and I am at level 5 plus some and its easy to disprove your lazy bs lie that im not participating .
Now , please go the fuck away from me if thats as honest as you can be !
@SkotlandSkye ...your logic is juvenile and absurd .
@Scottzillyun really? it's pretty juvenile an absurd to whine about no one being local to you....and to question the honesty of how old this site is. But, yeah, just keep limiting yourself people in your immediate location. I'm sure it will work out well for you. Based on the way you've responded to both sarahjustme and myself, it's pretty easy to see your character. Good luck with that.
Agnostic.com is what you make of it.
As are Life, the Universe and Everything. It just doesn't seem geared toward dating. The community aspect is great. I enjoy the sanity it affords. Admittedly, I've never tried any online dating site, so maybe this is the norm. It's just that in my relatively short time here, I've seen numerous members saying it's not really a dating site. I didn't just make that up.
You can reach the complaint department by tagging @Admin and clicking your heels together three times and saying, "there's no place like agnostic.com" ....
Farmersonly.com but too many trump supporters. Seriously though, Ok Cupid, Match and Tinder have been my go-tos in the past but tinder and this site are the only communities still in existence that yielded any dates. This site will be great for dating once we get all the rest of the non-believers on board. Right now its fine but you gotta be willing to travel 4-5 hrs to meet if you arent in a densely populated area.
I'm in a fairly densely populated area. Still, 4-5 hrs to meet someone is definitely not a problem.
@JustLynnie It started that way n most people will use it that way if theyre smart probably but Ive met a few people through there who were just ready to start dating n trying to get out there. Depends on what youre lookin for. Its just the most active platform for any and all purposes in my area it seems.
Hi, Pokerboss, and welcome to the website,
This website has a bit of a learning curve for dating.
If you answer the profile questions and write your profile, listing your hobbies and interests, you'll earn website points, and members can get to know you.
You've already done much of this.
Commenting on posts and writing your own earns more points. At level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt.
The website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match.
Many women prefer to see a written profile talking about interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that can be quickly perused to find compatible partners.
In case you didn't know yet, to find members near you, click on the "Browse" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters.
Click on the "Discuss" button, then "Nearby" to find members near you also.
Or click on the "About" button at the top left of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial.
Ohferpetessake, it is both & up to you......except you seem a bit rigid. "False advertising"??? Really?
I go everywhere for dating. You just never know when you're going to meet someone you want to know more about.
Yes We know. You have girlfriends everywhere. =0}
The newbs want all the secrets right away.
If this site has only been around since September, aren't we all newbs?
@pokerboss77 yes
