Greatest invention of all times?
PCs and Internet --- but you really had to grow up without them...and get a least one college degree without them to truly appreciate how easy it is now find information, do research, locate books and articles, etc.
and then type/edit, save, print...review, revise, share.....
I did 50+ research papers on a manual typewriter. The struggle was real.
We can go a few steps deeper and find the milestone that opened the gates for all that technology to unfold greater things...the transistor.
@IamNobody Well, there you go then. My vote is for the humble Transistor. I believe you humans got it from one of our spaceships that crashed in the Nevada desert.....
@SkotlandSkye ha ha ha...nope, it was nothing but hard work from an individual that don't get the credit he deserves... Schockley
@IamNobody ah....but perhaps young William wondered into the Nevada desert for inspiration.... LOL He did get a Nobel for his "discovery" ......So the USAF snagged what became Area 51 in 1955 and Schockley won the Nobel Prize in '56 ...... the truth is out there...... ((insert spooky music here))
@SkotlandSkye gotta give it to you on creativity and conspiracy theories ????
there is always a new grtest invention. I guess you need to go with the wheel.
Without a doubt, that's one of the greatest inventions
Thanks everyone, the variety of responses was quite interesting, here is a summary:
Wheel (4 or 5 times !!), Math, Scientific Method, Written language, Agriculture, Telephone, air conditioning, refrigeration, indoor plumbing, birth control, shoes, Google maps, beer ?, cake ?, tacos, ice cream (someone was hungry ? )...... and not so great but inventions all the same omnipotent god and the bible
the bible!
I would call that one the meanest invention.
@Betty ...and you are not wrong.
Either the vaccine or the bicycle, I can't decide which. ?
